Today was a thankful break in the cold weather so I went for a ride on the Neo Primato and just happened to take my camera along. My winter diet of stews and fish chowders made the first hour of the ride a little sluggish, but eventually I picked up some speed and got an idea of how much faster the Neo Primato is going to be than my Rivendells. I’m now encouraged to drop my winter pounds and build some “match fitness” to see if I can do justice to my new bike.

Very sweet. I have the same frame on order…eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Thanks, how are you going to build your frame up?
I got the N.P. Faema in 2007. I got it with Chorus, mostly but with an Miche alloy chainwheel and crankset instead of the Chorus. They needed to put a Centaur bottom bracket to fit the crankset. The biggest problem I’ve had is some paint chipping. I haven’t been able to find a color that matches. Let me know if you find one. Also, be careful not to shift into the small cog and the small chainwheel. You’ll get chainsuck which wil chip paint off the chain stay. I learned that the hard way. I crashed once and bent the derailleur hanger but the shop put it back into perfect alignment. That’s the nice thing about steel.

I’ve had a couple of small paint chips, but nothing too bad. An email to the factory might work.
Small – small combos are always to be avoided, but you might want to look at your front derailleur
adjustment. I put in a Phil Wood BB bearing and adjusted it right to left to get the chain line I wanted
and so far no chainsuck, but it always happens when you least expect it on those steep climbs
when you want really the small ring.
